Heritage Open Day

  English Heritage Open Days!

This year the Winsford Trust was delighted to be taking part in the Heritage Open Day on the 10th September 2011. This event was supported nationally by English Heritage and gave the public an opportunity to visit over 4,000 sites across England free of charge.

Heritage Open Days celebrates England’s superb architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission.

You will be pleased to know that the day was well attended by members of the public locally and nationally. We discovered that some visitors had been born at the Cottage Hospital and they were intrigued to see the room in which they had been born and to find a record of their birth in the hospital day book.

As a result of the Open Day we have made a number of new contacts and numerous ‘Friends of the Winsford and the Voysey Archive’ membership scheme.
