I really like the design and quality feel of the new site. My only criticism would be that there seems to be a lack of illustrations.

I know most of the locals know what the former Winsford Cottage Hospital looks like but for other visitors from further afield it needs photographs, plans and drawings to bring the place alive. There are some stunning design details to be seen inside and outside the building -- please let's see them!

Best wishes,

My wife and I live just 100 yards or so from the site where Winsford Tower once stood, in what, since the mid 1960s, is called 'Lower Winsford Farm'. Formerly called 'Home Farm', it consisted of two workers' cottages with stables and barns, and we believe (after looking at old maps) was built concurrently with the Tower, but before the other buildings.

The quality of the dressed stonework of the stable buildings is very high -- much better than would be the case with standard farm buildings, showing the money that the Medleys threw at their 'house in the country' project.

For anyone wishing to take a look -- perhaps while on a visit to Winsford Walled Garden -- signs of the former estate can still be seen; from the lodge at the entrance to Winsford Lane, then the estate manager's house, the walled garden, the old dairy, the gamekeeper's house and finally 'Home Farm' -- now Lower Winsford. In all, these buildings stretch over half a mile.

Best wishes for the website.

I’ve had a good old surf around the site and everything I clicked on worked! Pages also loaded quickly which can be a problem with some sites. Well done!

When we first moved to West Devon twenty-odd years ago, I remember being absolutely astonished to discover that we had a 'lost' building by Voysey virtually on our doorstep. It's thrilling to learn that the old hospital is in safe hands, properly protected, and on the way to complete restoration. We wish you every success with your endeavours and hope to have the opportunity to participate in some of your fundraising events in the New Year. Great website by the way!
